OBITUARY Frontman On Hanging Out With MOLLY HATCHET, RONNIE JAMES DIO

OBITUARY frontman John Tardy has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"[We had a] great show the other night in London. It felt good to be back and actually make the show after what happened last time with our work permits. Thanks to all of you for coming out.

"We had a travel day to Scotland yesterday which allowed us to relax and have a few cool one here last night! Today our show is at the Soundhaus in Glasgow. It has been a long time since we were here, so we are looking forward to seeing all of you tonight. It is going to be sick!

"I can't tell you how much fun we had at Sweden Rock [festival]! Hangin' out with the MOLLY HATCHET guys, watching TED NUGENT and CELTIC FROST, it was a great time. They had four different stages and endless amount of great bands playing. We really thank the Sweden Rock promoters for the invitation to this great festival. We got to meet a lot of the musicians that have influenced us over the years. On top of that, we are at the airport going through customs and Ronnie James Dio is standing there with us. He did not play at the Sweden Rock, but was just traveling home. He was so cool and to my surprise actually knew who we were. Awesome!!!"

OBITUARY are continuing to tour in support of their latest CD, "Frozen in Time", which was released in July 2005 via Roadrunner Records. The group's first collection of new songs since 1997's "Back from the Dead" was self-produced by the band, with Mark Prator and Scott Burns engineering, and was mastered by Tom Morris at Morrisound. The band recently completed a U.S. trek with SADUS and DEAD TO FALL.
